Howard
Lew Lewis is a familiar face in British television. A very distinctive
comic actor, he has appeared in episodes of Blackadder, Casualty
and Minder, as well as stealing the show as the bartender Elmo
Putney in Brush Strokes. Lewis is probably most fondly remembered
as Rabies in the hugely popular children's television series,
Maid Marian and Her Merry Men.
On
the big screen Howard Lew Lewis has appeared in an impressive
cross-section of movies, including Brazil, Chaplin, Quills,
Shadowlands, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and as the voice
of Obelix in Asterix Conquers America.
